New Maths and English Courses for Adults in Wonthaggi and Cowes

Bass Coast Adult Education Centre (BCAEC) announces a partnership with Phillip Island Community and Learning Centre (PICAL) to provide Maths and English classes at both venues. These courses are aimed at people who missed out on schooling or perhaps have some gaps in their learning. Each class is held in a friendly, low stress environment. Whatever your level, you will feel welcomed.
Literacy and numeracy has always been a major part of BCAEC’s focus and demand for the courses has increased dramatically in 2013. A growing number of students from Phillip Island wanted to access the classes but were finding it difficult to get to Wonthaggi.
To help satisfy this need, BCAEC has joined forces with PICAL in Cowes to offer the Certificate in General Education for Adults at both campuses, starting in October.
There are no minimum requirements to attend. The courses cater to all ages and all stages and can provide up to Certificate III level or the equivalent of a Year 10 pass. Additionally, learners attending PICAL’s campus have the option of learning gardening as part of their studies.
The courses will run on Mondays and Tuesdays, commencing on Monday, 7th October, but enrolments are taken all year round.
To discuss enrolling or for any more information, you can call Bass Coast Adult Education Centre on 5672 3115 or Phillip Island Community and Learning Centre on 5952 1131.
