Locally developed course to provide students with a taste of the skills to perform a range of roles within the sector from crewing catamaran tourist trips and fishing charters, to working on fishing boats, transport or freight vessels.
This flexible course is locally relevant and provides learners with a pathway toward globally recognised qualifications that could take you around the world. The course will be conducted from the Bass Coast campus in Wonthaggi with many boating excursions ranging from: the fishing port of San Remo, Parks Victoria Jetties in Cowes, Rhyll, Corinella, Tankerton (French Island), Hastings and even to Melbourne to view the Sea Shepherd ship docked in Williamstown – the Steve Irwin. There will also be guest speakers from local seafaring establishments to ensure the learning is engaging and inspiring.
