t the beginning of 2011, Australian consumer laws became national giving all consumers in Australia the same rights.
This includes a national system for product safety enforcement and new laws to protect consumers from unfair terms in standard consumer contracts.
Consumer Affairs Victoria will be running a free information session on how this Act protects consumers and traders. Traders are also welcome to attend.

Associated Incorporations Reforms Act 2012
he Associations Incorporation Act 1981 has been replaced by the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012, which came into effect on 26 November 2012.
Consumer Affairs Victoria will be running free information sessions on how the changes will affect incorporated associations.
The sessions will focus on:
- Adapting to the new laws
- Making or changing rules
- How to submit financial statements
- Statutory obligations.
